Signing in to Grapevine
Also in Assistants Instructors Site admins Resellers ContributorsEverything you do in Grapevine — taking a course, running one, administering a site — happens behind a sign-in. There is no separate “admin” area to learn: you sign in at the same place whatever you do, and what you are allowed to do appears once you are in.
Where to sign in
Go to /login/ on the site you were given. If your organisation’s address is example.grapevinelearning.org, that is example.grapevinelearning.org/login/.
- Enter the email address your account was created with. This is your username — there is no separate one to remember.
- Enter your password.
- Choose Sign in.
You land on the page you were trying to reach. If you came straight to the sign-in page, you land on your list of courses.
Use the address your account was created with
Accounts are keyed on the email address, so the one you sign in with has to be the one somebody used when they added you. If you have two addresses — a work one and a personal one — only one of them has an account, and signing in with the other will not work even though the password is right.
If somebody enrolled you on a course and you have not heard from Grapevine at all, the most likely explanation is that they used a different address for you. Ask them which one.
Your courses are on one site
Grapevine runs a separate site for each organisation. Your account may exist on more than one of them, but a course belongs to the site it was created on — so if you are expecting a course and your list is empty, check you are on the right address. The site name is in the top left of every page.
If the password is the problem
You do not have to remember one. Grapevine can email you a link that signs you in without a password — see Signing in with an emailed link. It is the fastest way back in, and the right answer if you only use Grapevine occasionally.
If something else is wrong — the address is not recognised, or the page keeps refusing you — When you cannot sign in covers the cases one at a time.
