Paying for a course
If a course has a price, you pay at the point of enrolling. The price is on the course page before you commit, in the currency the organisation running the course has set.
Paying
- Choose Enroll on the course page.
- Sign in, or create an account, if you have not already.
- Enter your card details in the payment form.
- Choose the pay button and wait. Do not close the page or press it twice — the confirmation takes a few seconds, and that wait is the card being authorised.
- When it completes, the page becomes the course. You are enrolled.
What Grapevine knows about your card
Nothing. Card details go from your browser to Stripe, the payment processor, and Grapevine is told only whether the payment succeeded. There is no card number stored on the site, and nobody running the course can see one.
Who you are paying
You are paying the organisation that runs the course, not Grapevine — the money goes to their account. This matters if you need a receipt or a refund: ask them, not us. Grapevine cannot refund a payment taken into somebody else’s account.
If something went wrong
The card was declined
The form says so and you can try another card. Nothing has been taken. Declines usually come from the bank rather than from Grapevine, and the most common causes are an address mismatch or a block on online payments.
You paid but are not enrolled
Reload the course page first — if you are enrolled, the outline will be clickable and the price will be gone.
If it still shows as unpaid, do not pay again. Tell whoever runs the course, and include the date and time and the last four digits of the card. A payment that was taken is recoverable; a second payment is a second thing to refund.
Somebody bought a place for you
Then you will have been sent an invitation link and there is nothing to pay. Use the link rather than the Enroll button — it is what connects your account to the place that was bought.
